well boys, heres the thing. My computer suddenly has decided to go through mid life crisis. It doesnt like my windows media player and refuses to play sound on it. I go through the sound devices and it says nothing installed, yet when i log in or out, i can here the little windows xp jingle. Stupid tempremental junk, can anyone help me

I'm not sure what the problem is...

WMP is software, it would nopt be in device manager. And it is not required to play the startup jingle.

Let's back up...what are you trying to do and what happens when you do it?
