My Motherboard is an ASUS K8S-MX
it has an AGP slot, as well as two PCI expansion slots and one PCI-E expansion slot
what are expansion slots?

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. I looked at the specs of the motherboard you have at http://www.newegg.co...TC-pr1c3grabb3r
It shows 1 agp, 3 pci, no pci express. You can put the compatible card of your choice in an expansion slot. For example, if you wanted to add a modem or firewire, you install a card in the slot and off you go/
