explorer shutting down

Hi maybe you can give some assistance with my problem. I keep getting warnings that my virtual memory is too low amd now I'm getting warnings that explorer has encounterd a problem and must shut down.Is there a way I can free up storage space or clean up my computer?

Click start, right click my computer, click advanced, settings for performance, advanced, change for virtual memory, put the dot in system managed, click set, click OK and reboot

ok when I right click my computer no where does it say advance or setting or performance
