I attempted to install a new Samsung 1740 printer on my Windows XP Pro machine using the "Add Hardware" on the Control Panel. The install appeared to be happening but then failed right before it should have finished with a message about a loader not being available. I tried several times, rebooted and tried again - each time with the same result.

My daughter was desperate to print out a term paper so I attached it to my wife's machine which is running XP Home. Again I used the "Add Hardware" and on this machine it worked perfectly first time. But for the long term, I want to go back and install it on mine (She wants a new all-in-one for hers). Do you have any ideas about what is going wrong on my machine and what to do to fix it? :tazz:

Go to the site that manufactured the printer (HP, Compaq, etc.) and find the driver and download it. See if that helps.
