Okay - everything was fine! Now after installing Mozilla - the Big E in the task bar won't open internet explorer - it will only open one way and that is from the start-search-search internet.

Also, now in Outlook express - the pictures within my mail aren't showing up - just a bunch of x's - I can clear the checked box for blocking images and that still doesn't work

Any suggestions?

hello and welcome to geekstogo,
for your first problem please doing the following,
on your desktop right click->properties->desktop->custimize desktop->check the box beside internet explorer.
After doing this double click the icon on your desktop. Does it work?

For the red x's is this for the internet too or just outlook?
thanx

MissBev responds: Thanks for the quick response - just put the icon on the desktop as instructed - but this still doesn't work - just a blank page and the spinning icon trying to open - as far as the x's - it just applies to Outlook Express. Thanks

Besides installing Firefox lately, have you installed anything else? Firewalls, anti-virus programs? And how many do you have of each.

thanx,
James

For you red x problem try this site http://support.micro...om/?kbid=283807

and just to rule out spyware,
Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
