yesterday i installed xp on my win 98. but it was german.


HOW DO I CHANGE THE LANGUE TO ENGLISH? ?

i know how to change the language, but english is not installed (it is not there in the lingo box)


how do i installl english language for xp???


or

can i transfer a language folder off my bros pc becasue he has xp in english. if so where is the language folder located??? ?


please help me i dont wanna run a german pc forever!!!!!(or wt eva lingo it is)

In regional options, languages, details, add language, English isn't there?

Was the version of 98 German

Did you install with an upgrade CD

i uprgared with a german/spanish (or whatever language) xp upgrade disk.


win 98 was english

CAUSE
This behavior occurs because you cannot run Windows Setup to upgrade one language version of Windows to a different language version of Windows. When you try to do so, the Setup program of the language version of Windows that you are currently installing displays the error message that is described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.

Not much really, as it says, you cannot use German to upgrade English, check again to see if English is in the add languages section

Run disc clean up, run disc defragmenter, set a restore point

Get an XP CD

Load it, click cancel when it has loaded, click start then my computer, right click the drive with the XP CD in, locate the I386 folder, copy this to a folder you create - C:\I386

When you add the language, browse to the new folder as the source

how do i browse for the language???

rember i am running germ pc. that why i dont understand

I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE WHOLE LANGUAGE ON A PC WITHOUT BUYING A ENGLISH XP DISK !!! WHY DIDNT ANY1 TELL ME THAT?
