My computer won't do anything. It says preparing to start computer then it says: A:\> what do i need to type in?

If you press the del key right after the beep, you may need to keep tapping this, then go to boot and then boot priority and change it to boot from cd rom instead of floppy, it should go to the desktop. Make sure to press F10 to save and exit. You can leave it set to boot from cd rom as only the XP CD will run its set up before going to the desktop, if you have any other CD in the drive when you reboot or start then it will ignore them. Have you checked there isn't a floppy in the drive.

Now all t says is C:\> and i heard no beep
