I have a website for my business that has a clickable link with my email address. It opens a contact form and is supposed to email the form to me. It isn't working.

I have tried contacting the guy that made the site, no reply.

So my question is two-fold.

Can I move my site somewhere else without his permission? I am the domain name owner, not the website builder, although he is the one hosting it for me.

If it can be moved and hosted somewhere else, can someone go in and fix the problem with the contact form?

Not sure if it's okay to post the address, so I won't.

If it is okay and if asked I will.

Thanks in advance....

Hi Scott,

You will need to have access to the web hosting in order to resolve your issues with your form integration. I would recommend that you keep trying to contact him.

By the way, did he happen to give you all of the source files upon completion of your website? The website can be moved to another host if that is the case, since you own the domain.

When I had my business this young man worked for me.

He has since joined the Air Force and is impossible to contact. He is being shipped all over the world.

So I am in a pinch here. The site is not working correctly and I have to get it fixed.

Could I build a new site and have it hosted somewhere and it would over-ride the site he is hosting?

I have to do something quick.

Thanks,

You can do anything that you want. If the site is in your name, you can change the DNS entries with the registrar and move the site wherever you want.

What you need to do is get in touch with the people hosting your website and get ftp information. From there you can fix what needs to be fixed. Or you can hire someone to do it for you.

If you want, you can PM me the site information and I can tell you where it is hosted.
