I was having a lot of different problems, so I was told to reinstall Windows. I did the reinstallation, but when I tried to install updates, or when I tried in install softward I keep getting the same error message:

Windows Installer could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows installer is not correctly installed.

Please help

Hi Achilarre...

Let's unregister and reregister the Windows Installer.

To do this, click Start, then Run, type msiexec /unregister in the Open box, and then click "Ok".

Then click Start, then Run, type msiexec /regserver in the Open box, and then click "Ok".

Does this help?

You could try using dial-a-fix to fix the installer problem...and then if it doesn't work, do what gerryf said.

Download Dial-a-fix from http://fileforum.bet...ll/1131569373/2

When you download it, double-click on it to extract all of its files. Then open the folder it creates. Double-click on the file called Dial-a-fix.

Look at the middle-left section called MSI. Click on the box called Fix Windows Installer and make sure all of its sub-boxes are checked too.

Now, at the bottom-left corner, click on GO.

Restart your computer when it is finished.

Thanks for getting back to me

1) I was NOT able to install the installer
2) Nothing is yellow !
3) I am running the dial a fix...have been running for like 15 minutes now, still on registering server.

Does this sound right.

I really want to get this fixed, and I really appreciate you helping me

thanks and I will be here all night
