Hi,

Im having big trouble trying to get connected online with my ps2 (which you kind of guessed).

I have drawn a picture of how my internet, ps2, router etc is connected up, to stop any confusion.

http://img309.images...3/fgrfdg2ek.jpg

(I didnt know how to get the picture to appear directly here)

As you can see, i have my router connected to one system. And another ethernet cable which goes upstairs into another system. I then take the ethernet cable from my upstairs system, and plug it into the back of my ps2. (As soon as i get another ethernet lead i can just insert an extra one from my router up to the ps2 so i can have both systems and the ps2 connected all at the same time).

Does this setup look correct to the more experienced?

The router is not picking up the ps2. I know this because when i connect the upstairs ethernet cable into my pc, the router flashes that it has 2 connections (both systems). When i plug my upstairs ethernet into the back of my ps2 the router only shows one connection (my downstairs system).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have constantly searched through tutorials and faq's etc but am having no luck.

One thing i thought could be a slight problem is that i do not have a modem within the setup, however i can still use broadband internet fine on both system just through entering my ISP info into the router.

Please help. Thankyou

I have setup the configuration on the network access disc, although i do not yet have my access code. But i dont think this is the problem right? Surely i should be getting the router to pick up my PS2 before i worry about that?

Hey, I am also having problems with my router and PS2 in getting online (as you may notice from my post about the problem). My problem is a little different, but I used to be able to get online fine using a setup just like what you have diagrammed.

From what I have read online, certain routers and certain online games are slightly problemmatic in that you need to configure your router in a certain way for it to work. I don't know all the specifics yet, but am trying to figure it all out.

What type of router do you have?

What game are you trying to use online and have you completed your network settings on the PS2?
