network dropout after 15 mins of high traffic

bit torrent client at full tilt, explorer downloading, browsing and working at same time,all good for about 15 minutes, then network activity drops from a comfortable 1M/sec to zero in a few seconds. Modem router still shows green lights across th board, other PCs un affected on the router. Ping router on 10.1.1.1 gives time out message, network connections "status" shows connected with no problems but packets not counting up. Every time at about 15 minutes. Fixed with restart.
