Hey when im on myspace and stuff its not loading up the video or music player boxes on peoples profiles anymore.. Now I get a clear box with a little white box in it and on the white box is three colorful shapes... how do i fix this?

I see the date and time in the box only after i accept the flag that my broweser throws... im using explorer

Probably need to change the scripting permissions for your browser, then.

check the the following settings: (Control Panel > Internet Options > Security tab > Custom Level button)

Security Settings - Internet Zone

.NET Framework-reliant components

  • Run Components signed with Authenticode = Enable
ActiveX controls and plug-ins

only about 1 of these things were different and i dont have some of the otpions in my security tab. still the same outcome... no vids or music player. it all used to play then one day last week it just did this

See what happens if you do a System Restore to a date before you lost the ActiveX. Let me know if you get them back.

ok so its works when i do the system restore But everytime windows updates automatically and it gos back to messing up why is this.. is the update screwed up?

In short, yes...Microsoft has released a ginky update. I think they have it patched now, and I'm still not sure what all it does...but it has had some rather dramatic effects on some machines...mostly HP's.

We'll have to see if this is the cause of your issues or not. Something to try for this for now:

Restore the System again and do the following.

Click Start, then Run, type prefetch, and click "Ok". In the "Prefetch" folder, click on "Edit" on the toolbar and choose "Select All". Right click on a file and choose "Delete". Reboot and see if the settings hold.

i did this and it still messes up only after the update installs again and i dont know how to turn off auto update i dont want it if its messed up.
