I just installed a new mb, the ASUS listed in my system specs, and had to replace my graphics card as well, when its fan went out.
It runs fine after start up, until i try to launch a high usage program such as Dungeons and Dragons Online by Turbine games or run 2 scans at the same time.

Then the cd and dvd lights come on, flicker on and off a sec and the curser and screen freezes, any action, such as a key being pressed also freezes in on position (press w to turn and it stays active even after my hands leave the keyboard) On several occasions the cd rom tries to go into autoplay with no disc in the drive. In the task manager it shows no other applications running, but when the lights on the drives flicker the cpu usage jumps to 40-60% from its normal 10-20%.

I have had a complete reformat, and adaware and ewido and avg find nothing. It could be hardware or wiring related, or software.

Whats my next step?

I am dling hijack this to do a scan.
