every few minutes my computer screen will flash to a different shade of colour...purple or blue...it stays that way for a while...then flashes back to normal...over and over....do u know what could be causing this??

any help would be appreciated

You can reseat your video cable to the monitor but it looks like either your video card or the monitor is going bad. Borrow a monitor from someone and see if your monitor is the problem. If you have onboard graphics you may need to switch to a card type graphics card.

One other thing you can try is deleting the video drivers, rebooting and reinstalling the drivers. It's a long shot as usually flashing video is hardware going bad.
