Computer not recognizing class compliant USB devices

My computer is not recognizing class compliant USB devices. Everytime I try to plug in a flash drive or anything of the sort, it asks me for an installation CD.

Can someone help me, please?

you need to install the correct drivers for the usb hardware. wgt is it?
