Sometimes when i open up videos that i downloaded on quicktime media player 7 Pro it brings up a website advertizing some product or another. is there any way to competely cut off quicktimes outgoing ties to the internet so when a video tells it to bring up a browser it doesnt? I can close off incoming by not allowing it through my firewall but thats not solving it.

You can change the association with file types, among many other things, by opening quicktime and going to edit/preferences. There use the drop down list to change what you want.
