The Scenario:
I am working on redesigning a department's space on the corporate intranet. I have 14 new flowcharts created in Visio 2003 with various requirements for interactivity. We have had difficulty taking these from test stage to uploading on the corporate server, mainly a relative vs absolute addressing problem. We have managed to fix this, by setting the interactivity and adding hotlinks directly using Visio, and then "Saving it as a webpage" from Visio. There are several options on how to save; we have selected one that, because of the need for interactivity and the addressing problem, cannot be changed (i.e. we can't save it as a .gif and re-hotlink etc.). The way we save it has two frames, one a navigation pane and one the diagram pane. The entire thing is set up by Visio and I'm not willing (or feel experienced enough) to touch it.
The Issue:
The rest of the website I've redesigned is built around a javascript drop menu system. I started off trying to make it work in frames, but the drop menu disappears when in the frame. I have since learned that you can't work a drop menu across a frame, so that's fine...using FrontPage 2003 I've designed a spiffy "Dynamic Web Template" that hosts the javascript menu, and all the other nifties created. It's working just fine on every page. Except the ones with frames, aka the Visio ones (which of course are the ones we *really* need uploaded and interactive).
The Question:
Is there any way to get the dynamic web template to work with frames? My gut instinct is that it can't, but I don't know for sure. And if not, anyone have any suggestions?
HELP!
Thank you in advance!
