When I would try to type a new letter using the Microsoft Works program letterhead I would get this message and it said"C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\WUTOEXEC.NT. the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Mcrosoft windows applications" I would just close it and retype over an old letter that I had saved using the letterhead. So it was no big deal. Now I installed a program about insects and I get the same message when I try to open the program. I can't go any further. What's up? THanks. My hi-jack this follows.

Can you run this

This installaton program will reinstall the missing or corrupt Windows XP system files command.com, autoexec.nt and config.nt. The absence or corruption of one or more of these files causes a "16 Bit Subsystem" error.

We recommend that you download this file and save it to your desktop or to another location where you can find it. Double click on the file to run it once it's downloaded. If problem reoccurs in the future, simply re-run this program.
