I have tried spybot, spyware blaster, adaware and spysubtract but only spysubtract detects it. i then remove it with spysubtract but then it removes itself as a "bad program" in spybot and i have to re-immunize spybot. the details given on this program by spysubtract is : ucmore toolbar, IEextension and directs to http://www.ucmore.com Can you suggest another method for permenantly removing this. finally, i have tried to go to regedit and remove ucmore from there and do a regclean but still comes back.

below is m hijack this log:

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Download the ccleaner
I use this Program and is setup like this all boxs are check.

Clean out all temp files in Mozilla, Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer: Tools/ Internet Options/ General/ Temporary internet files/ Delete Files (NOTE, that this may take very long!). You can also set the memory limit to about 80 MB at the Settings.

Mozilla: Edit/ Options/ Extended/ Cache/ Clear Cache

ActiveX Controls could do with a big cleanup. Open your browser and go to Tools > Internet Options and click on the General Tab. Click on Settings (next to Temporary Internet Files) and then click on View Objects. Rightclick on each and choose Properties. If there is anything there that you dont know what it is (microsoft, apple, macromedia etc are OK) or where it came from, delete it. If there are any damaged controls there, delete those also. If any are needed, you will be prompted to download them again anyway.

Lets clean out Windows Prefetch: C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\ Delete all the files in this folder, this is safe it will not do any harm to your computer

Empty your recycle bin.

Turn of system restore
Disabling or enabling Windows XP System Restore

Defrag your hard drive turn system restore back on and create a new restore point.

Please run the following free, online virus scans: Please post the logs From both virus scans and HJT we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm

Please post the three log into this same topic

Thanks

I don't run XP. I have Windows 2000 Pro and already run NAV 2005. So can't turn off system restore. Did all of the above but Effective-I (ucmore) keeps returning to my system. Looks like it is in the Windows Registry. Below are the logs you requested.

Effective-I still there altough I switched off Teatimer(option in advanced version of spybot) and providing Hijacklog again Is the Spybot Option, S&D Resident, OK or should I leave it off? Is this being caused by Spybot?
Te above program is being detected by Spysubtract only, not by Adaware or Spybot.

Hi junkdaddy

Your HJT.log is clean.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp

Please post the logs From both virus scans and HJT.log we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.

spysubtract still detects Effective-I and it continues to appear even though I have deleted it using Spysubtract. Something also still removes a program to be blocked by Spybot and I have to reimmunize each time. So I am including Hijack log, Panda and Housecall results for your review. Fianlly, turning Teatimer off doesn't seem to remove Effective-I.

I got a clean scan from Housecall as well.

Hi junkdaddy. I have just seen this thread and noted that the recurring issue is your problem with zapping Effective-i.Inc (Ucmore.com). which keeps appearing in your SpySubtract scans. It apppeared in my SS scan yesterday and "Details"gave me the registry (regedit) path :-- " HKCU>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version>Internet Settings>Zone Map>Ranges> Range1". I followed this to the end and deleted "Range1" and, so far, (having run several SS test scans) it has stayed zapped. I just wondered if you had tried this.? Cheers, Haba. :tazz:

Thatman,
Ran the Backdoor Agent and came up clean. ANother party posted a suggestion to fix this issue but am unsure of their answer given they are a newbie and not an a trusted helper. Please let me know if I should follow their suggestion and below is a new HijackThis log. Thanks again for all your help and suggestions.
