when i boot up i get a run dll pop up. the file is from eacceleration that i deleted the day after i downloaded it. the start up command is rundll32.exe "C:\programfiles\accerlation software\anti-virus\sstsmon.dll. so how do i get rid of it? also, there is a blank entry in my startup and i was just wondering what it was. and also the ones with symbols, what are they? thanks for the help!

Click Start , then Run , type msconfig , and click "Ok". Under the "Startup" tab, look under the "Command" column for C:\programfiles\accerlation software\anti-virus\sstsmon.dll. Is it listed there (maybe a blank entry)?

Hey there hookem_horns79, welcome to Geeks To Go Forums, looking at the information you have given us, it sounds like you have malware.

So please read this: Read This Before Posting A Hijackthis Log (Click on the link)

That will give you steps that will help you clean up 70% of the problems yourself. Then please download "Hijackthis" and run Hijackthis with log. Save the log file here: Malware Removal - HiJackThis Logs Go Here

When you have followed all these steps. A Geeks To Go Staff Member will help you fix your problem.

(Note: Please be patient, the "Malware Forum" is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual.)

Also let them know about "eacceleration"
