Hi there, I am having problems with my girlfriends computer. For some reason , it just restarts automaticlly when it gets to the point where you need to "log in" under Admin or whatever. She has windows XP pro. I can get it to boot in safe mode, but I cant get norton to run in safe mode. I have tried to system restore the computer and it goes through the process but then says it was unable to restore once it restarts. I dont know how this happened because nothing was wrong the last time she was on the computer and now a week later she comes back and its doing this. Its been turned off for a WEEK! I suspect maybe a trojan but Im no expert so Im leaving the fixing to you guys. Ive ran some spyware programs in safe mode and removed some stuff but that doesnt help. So i saved a hijack this log . It kinda sucks because in safe mode she cant get on the net, so I have to do communicate using my computer. Any help would be greatly apperciated. Thank you

When you boot the computer, in the screen where you choose Safe mode can you find the Last Known Good option?
Try choosing that one and let us know if that works.

If not, let us know if you have a XP CD.
It doesn't necessarily have to be the one that came with the computer.

I'd also like to know why you never installed any ServicePacks.

I have tried the "last known good option" and that didnt work. I have a Windows XP Pro CD. Its not for her computer but it doesnt matter right? Also, its not MY computer, so I didnt know she hadnt installed any of the service packs until very recently .

• Read and put a Check next to Yes I accept the terms of use.
• Click the Launching HouseCall>> button.

• If you are taken back to the main page, click Launching HouseCall>> button again.
