using nero 7 premium and sony 203E handycam

can anyone :help:

help me i am new to computers and i have been given a sony 203E handycam
i am trying to burn onto a dvd i have used nero premium 7 to make a movie using clips from my handycam but when i get to the burn page it starts and then half way though it freezes.
i have tried going to the "nero burning ROM" page and selecting dvd-video but when i drag my saved movie across it comes up with "unexpected file format" :blink:
