wireless connection prob

i am using a netgear dg834g to connect and i am having big probs i cannot maintain aconnection for longer than a few seconds, when i view wireless connection sometimes its not available sometimes it is and i cannot connect,
i was using a speedtouch 580 before and it was working properly until my isp (bulldog)had problems nationwide when they fixed the problem i connected for a few minutes and couldnt connect any longer, i tried to connect with a cable and was succesful so i assumed it was the router and bought the netgear dg834g but i am left with the same problem, this problem occurs with all 4 pc's in the house #please help as bulldog are no good with support.
