Can the in coming fax pass though the modem and on to the fax machine with out disturbing the computer conection. Can "call wave" be used? Thank You.

Can the in coming fax pass though the modem and on to the fax machine with out disturbing the computer conection. Can "call wave" be used? Thank You.

Hi hal,
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Callwave, but a quick trip to their website looks it can let you accept faxes while online, or they also offer a fax number that's sends faxes to your inbox (efax.com offers this too).
I think you could also do this with a modem that features "modem-on-hold" technology. This would notify of an incoming call while your online, and allow you accept the call, putting your Internet connection "on-hold". You may also want tio check with your telco to see what they offer.
Finally, have you considered broadband? This would free up a phone line, and provide faster connection speeds, possibly for about what you're paying for dial-up.
