:whistling: I have a Dell Optiplex DIM2400 Celeron CPU 2.40GHz 512 MB of RAM I am running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2
A few days go my resolution dropped to the lowest point. I found in the Hardware of my device manager that Display Adapter was opened and a yellow ! was on Video Controller (VGA compatible) I tried to update the driver and before it was complete, it said there was an unknown error found and installation would close. I went to the properties and it said there was no driver installed. I downloaded the driver I had. Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics controller. Before it was completed with the installation, I got the same message that I had gotten with updating the driver. Is there a graphics Driver that is compatible with my PC that I can download and get to work? I don't know what else to do. Please help I have also unistalled and tried re-installing and get the same unknown error.

Run this to check there is nothing windows related stopping the install

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, right click any file then click delete, confirm delete

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up, then from system tools, run disc defragmenter.

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter, you need the XP CD and Windows File Protection will show a blue onscreen progress bar, when the bar goes, reboot

Download and install Tune Up 2006 Trial

Run Tune Up Disc Clean Up

Run Tune Up Registry Clean Up

Click Optimize and Improve to run Reg Defrag, which will take a few minutes and need a reboot. You should disable the antivirus programme to run this and check it is running after the reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor
