Do you still have the old drive(s) connected? Be sure the new drive is the only hard drive connected, and make it the master on the primary IDE channel and try again. <_<

it is the only one connected and it is hooked up to master, it just doesn't see all the space, it opnly sees like 33gb of it, and when i uyse the software that comes with it, i tried ptuiong it no FAT32 firsat and spliting ity up in to 4 20gb pertitions, and then i went to install windows XP and then winxp said that it only sees 1 33gb partions, and that it isn't in a supported format, and now i can'tr get it to power up with the H.D. hooked up! BAH, i am susspections it the the mother board not able top support that much HD

Your correct, your motherboard only supports hard drives under 33gb. However this is a BIOS update that supports drives larger tha 33gb here: http://www.asus.com....slot1-440bx.htm

Also, why are you formatting with FAT32? Unless you need to access the data on this drive with another system unable to read NTFS (Windows prior to NT/2000). NTFS is better, faster, and more secure. You may be able to boot your computer directly from the CD, and use XP's setup to partition and format.
