First post here and it's a big thanks.

My PC was hit with mssearchnet.exe and nvctrl.exe early on Saturday morning. I had manually removed them through safe mode and dos prompt, from system32, prefetch and a REGEDIT search.

However I was still troubled by McAffee popups regarding the puper.dll.

Having followed the information on the 'Hijackthis logs go here' thread to the letter, everything so far seems fine. I'm just running one final McAffee scan on the aforementioned machine and so far things seem to be ok, touch wood. Normally I'll get a pop-up on initiating an Adaware/McAffee scan or opening a browser window, neither has produced that result as yet. Hopefully I won't need to be troubling anyone with any HJT logs.

Your information in the malware forum is informative, easy to follow and in my eyes doesn't patronise. Everyone here does an outstanding job and many people that charge for their services could learn a lot from the way the team here operates.

Once again, thank you.
