I need some assistance. When I try to upgrade to Windows XP Pro from Windows XP Home,
I get a message that it cannot do an upgrade (one that does not lose existing programs),
because it cannot find "netmap.inf".

I am presently running Windows Service Pack 1.

Can anybody tell me how to restore netmap.inf so I can do the upgrade?

Thank you,

Janet

XP Home version came installed on the computer. I got a Recovery CD, but that wasn't working when I tried to use it. The installation I'm trying to do now is an actual Windows XP Professional CD.

It wants the Netmap.inf information in order to do the upgrade. I don't want to do a destructive install, just an upgrade.

Thank you for responding.

I have a Recovery CD and I have a Windows XP Professional CD.
The XP Pro upgrade is what I'm trying to install.

Thank you for answering.
