My father (who is in Texas, while I live in Michigan) has Norton AV 2005. It is set to AutoScan (something I am trying to get him to switch to manual for the below reasons). Norton, he told me, found around 37 adwares and removed all bu around 18. He keeps getting these windows popping up saying first, that a download trojan has been successfully dealt with, and then, every 30 seconds, he gets a window saying that is safe to use his computer. When that pops up, he says his cursor disappears.

I had him do a disk cleanup the other day, and that seemed to correct the problem, but it came back. He uses AOL 9 I believe.

While these windows are up, he says that he can not use the internet. Anybody have any ideas about why these windows keep popping up and how to shut them down permanently?

Thanks
