I installed Sp2 a couple of weeks ago. After install no internet connection. Constant Ip address starts with 169.etc

A friend suggested winsockit fix----- no luck. Once I switch either Cables Modem connection or use ethenet cable to my sons Lap top everything works fine. So I feel confident it is not on the ISp side.

When I run comcast startup program for High speed. I get a green OK for the Network adapter but the connection test fails.

I get messages" no internet connection or limited connectivity".

Driving me nuts. Someone mentioned to Go to Dell's site and get network and motherboard drivers for my Optiplex 270.

Appreciate any advice/help,

ChiefLiam :whistling:
