So one night my harddrives started makin a weird noise, like it was seeking something really hard, and then it froze, so i restarted and it would say "cannot find drive 0 and cannot find drive 1" so i put the hd's as slaves in my other computer and verified that they are still working, is this a motherboard IDE problem? if so how can i verify this before i spend money on a new motherboard?

i have a dell dimension 3000 with P4 Prescott 3.0ghz.

and would any of you reccomend this motherboard?

If you can see the hard drives in the bios its probably the master boot record that has been corrupted. Heres a good webpage on the mbr.
