McAfee Active Shield switches itself off Intermittently

I am using XP (Sp2) professional on NT(Sp6a)

This problem has been present for some time.

I have contact McAfee twice and ran their support site MVT (McAfee virtual Technician)

The MVT says some components are missing.

I have uninstalled Active shield completely using the McAfee tool. I re-installed it and still have the problem .

McAfee say the MVT may be wrong and sometime is wrong!!!

I have ran alll the malware and have no malware, viru's etc.

Hijack this log is fine

Clean tools and defrag has been done.

McAfee has no solution at the moment.

Anyone else come across this problem?
