These are early benchmarks but the intel conroe is actually looking good and they might have the potential to turn back around, maybe in a huge way for the gamers in mind...

More benchmarks...

http://www.hothardwa...cleid=794&cid=1

The new conroe cpu looks more and more better with each benchmark.

It beats the fx-60 once again on stock speeds even while the fx-60 is overclocked.

It beats it in every single benchmark in games also. It looks very good to me right now and its even still in the beta stage, which means it will even be faster with more performance..

I will be buying my new cpu based on benchmark reviews and in game performance and multi-tasking on the final release of the conroe and the new am2 cpu's by amd....

The conroe chip just whooped the fx-60, im not a fanboy of either cpu, I buy both manufacturers chips but the intel conroe is literally owning the fx-60.

We will see the conroe's VS the fx-62 when they are both released.

Keep in mind that the conroe cpu tested above has lower clock speed than the amd has because they overclocked the amd fx60 to 2.8ghz. The conroe above is at the default clock speed of 2.66ghz. Its always been amd is faster even with the operating frequency lower than intel but it doesnt look that as of now..

The fx-62 is going to be amd's highest chip while the conroe above is only at 2.66ghz and isnt the top dog.

im just excited about all this new technology coming out soon and maybe intel can turn their act around and be on top for games this time around...

well i have heard reports about an intel 65nm quad core chip named "kentfield"

dont no any of the specs as of yet but from the sounds of it, its going to be 1 intense peice of hardware.

and i would hate to see the temps of that thou the cooling would definatly have to be water or something similar.

cant wait to hear more about it keep us posted if you do hear anthig about the new hardware.
im sure this is going to crap all over even the best AMD's,

AMD has run out of the newer cores, the new ones in development are another 6 or 7 months away after the new plant is up and running at full rate. So intels gonna have an adavatage for a little bit.

But gaming AMD might be pulling of another swift one on intel with the core unification technology they are going to put in some of the later batch AM2s basically a chip that turns your two 64bit cores into one very very powreful 32bit cpu as games dont need dual core or 64bits they are gonna make use of it should sizably increase performance but its still not gonna be seen for a couple of months.

The first conroe benchmarks appeared early last month though so this is kinda old news. Robson looks better its pretty much the same core except they have a new very large flash memory cache.

Im gonna wait a while until all the new cpus are out and see what they are like, probably im gonna wait unitl a new system is actually needed after vista is out next year ill probably build a whole new system as alot of the technology should be more developed and there are alot of new lines in development that wont be coming out till then, flash memory CPU cache technology is quite good but wnot be seen for a little bit. That and Xdr memory is a little while away as well and its supposed to be out fairly soon.

Nah these things come when they come, they will probably be a bit on the expensive side when they come out, they will be about by the time am2 is released and they will probably be released by then for sure and they will lowr the prices to compete with the amds which should be quite cheap if the new factory is as good as they say it is.

Yeah but have you seen its performance, besides pentium Ms are lapper chips but people still use em in there desktops. The figures for robson load times are unbeliavable adobe acrobat without robson load times about 3 seconds with it 0.3 seconds thats good wouldnt mind some of that action especially in a MPC it would be good.
