Hi Trevuren,

This topic was closed due to inactivity... Sorry about that.. Anyways, unfortunately, my internet is down and I am unable to follow the link to apply the service pack. I'm emailing from work? Can I download it to a disk and take it home and apply it? Let me know...

Thanks!

Bfly

Hi bfly081 and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time. DO NOT UPGRADE TO SP2 AT THIS TIME

Apply the update.
REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM

2. Please post a fresh HJT log.

Regards,

Trevuren

Hello bfly081,

Trevuren is taking a well deserved break from logs, I will continue to help you.

Downloading to a disk will be fine, but it's a big download - hopefully you have good bandwidth.
