probably your 'input language' is set to 'United States' instead of 'United Kingdom' in the 'Language' tab of "Regional and Language Options" in Control Panel. You need to click on the 'Languages' tab, then 'Details', then use the drop-down at the top to change from United States English to United Kingdom English. Then 'OK' to confirm the change.
