I downloaded the ewido 14 day anti malware. But my Windows security alert keeps popping up saying I have no virus protection. Any ideas as to why this is happening. Should I get my AVG back, it never happened when I had that.

Yes! Get the AVG back. The Ewido you have is for malware...you need an antivirus program, as well. Right now you are not protected for virus' infections...that's why you are getting the alerts.
