I just got a new laptop yesterday and was wondering how I would go about configuring a wireless connection. Do I need a wireless router since we already use cable internet for our desktop? Any good internet tutorials or trips would be of great appreciation. Thanks in advance!

unless your cable modem has a wireless router built in...you will need to get a wireless router...i would suggest making sure you get one that has both wired and wireless capabilities (most of them do) then you would set up the system like this

cable from wall to modem > CAT5 cable from modem to router > Cat5 from router to desktop (laptop connected wirelessly)

after physically setting up the device you would want to use the desktop to configure the router (read the manual..they're really handy) as you have to have a wired connection to the router to configure it
