USB/Microphone/Headphones problem

I recently built a new computer. It is working fine with one exception: the USB, microphone, and headphone ports don't work. Any help would be welcomed.

Have you checked, control panel, sounds. speech and audio, sounds and audio to check it is set to use it for voice recording

Click start then control panel, sounds, speech and audio, sounds and audio, click the voice tab

You may need to set this on the audio tab as well
