i cannot click the items on my desktop, and i cannot, at all, enter into my documents, my computer, control pannel, explorer, anything!. I deleted a registry key and the wanring comes up:The instruction at 0x018b0065 referenced memory at 0x00000000. the memory could not be "written" this is a real pain and i know other people have had that problem but i cannot download and run programs. i have norton anti virus, interent security and pest patrol and they have done nothing to help the problem. it started after i dwonloaded a microsoft update

i know u guys are really busy and im sry for the inconveinience. Im a student and for my computer to be a mess like this really sucks. Aney help, from anyone would help a bunch. Iv had some rough times these past few weeks and this virus doesnt help at all

did you make a backup of your registry?? if you did, then merge your backup copy back into the registry, then reboot and post a fresh Hijack this log
you also said you cannot download any programs, what programs have you tried to download?

please try this to get the newer version of Hijack This!

first can you tell me what registry key you deleted, if not then restore you computer to a previous point. reboot into safe mode, if prompted to do a system restore clikc restore. If not prompted then click start, programs, acesories, system tools, can click on system restore. This will restore the registry key that you removed. if you are unable to get system restore to open, do the following fix and then retry these instructions.

Next do the following:

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Download and unzip cwsserviceremove to your desktop. use either link below:

Important Step
1. Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

O23 - Service: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper (%AF夶À¨) - Unknown owner - C:\WINNT\d3rv32.exe


When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows. If you don´t find this service listed go ahead with the next steps.

2. Reboot into SafeMode.Click here for Safe Mode instructions.[/url <---MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO DO THIS!!

3. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete once => Click Task Manager => Click the Processes tab => Double-click the Image Name column header to alphabetically sort the processes => Scroll through the list and look for:

C:\WINNT\d3rv32.exe
C:\WINNT\javadn.exe

If you find the files, click on them, and then click End Process => Exit the Task Manager.

4. CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AND BROWSERS Scan with Hijack This and put checks next to all the following, then click "Fix Checked"

5. Delete the following files if present:
If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. if it is uncheck it and try again.

(and any other files with the same name that end in .dll, .exe or .dat, you may find them right next to each other, example - appsw.exe, appsw.dll, appsw.dat)

6. Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

7. Double click on the cwsserviceremove and when asked to merge say yes.

8. Reboot into normal mode.

9. Download the Hoster from here http://members.aol.c.../start_corp.asp
Make sure you check "AutoClean"

then reboot and post a fresh Hijack This log to see how we did.

i coulnt restore my system either, it had worked before when i fixed it one time but then it went right back so i ciouldnt restore anymore...but its fixed now and im the happiest name alive

thats great, important lesson here though, never delete a registry entry unles s you back it up first. if you delete the wrong key you could cripple windows to the point that the only way to get it running is to reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows.

it places a bunch of addresses in your restricted zones on IE. when you got o a website that is in that list, it shows an icon in the lower right hand corner of your browser, on some pages it completely blocks the ability to view the page.

ok well i installed it and a black screen came up with al lthese options and i asked it to install and i got sucess!!!!! an it appears no new programs have been added to my comp so im guessing it jhust does some internal stuff and it worked
