A warning appears roughly a hour after logging on Saying "Virtual Memory low" I have scanned but it cant open my drives or folders My MBR and things like that dont open, SpyBot S&D cant find nothing. Online Virus scans dont pick nothing up. I dont know what to do please help me

StopSign has been known to cause issues with computers.

Note on eAcceleration Stop-Sign: eAcceleration's Stop-Sign anti-malware scanner was listed on this page primarily because of the company's history of employing deceptive advertising and drive-by-downloads. The company was also known for removing and/or disabling competing apps. These objectionable business practices were employed primarily during the years 2002-2003.

Although StopSign may be legitimate now, I'd still be suspicious. Remove it and see if your problem still exists.

In addition, please download WinAudit. Start it, and then click on Options at the top. At the bottom, click None and then check ONLY the box that says System Overview and then click Apply. Then, click on the button that says Here. It will record information about your system.

Save the audit to your desktop. This will save three files. Take all three files and put them into a single zip (compressed) folder. Name the folder WinAudit. Post it in your reply to me.

I will use this info to see if you may have another issue.

ok, it was acting like this before i installed Stopsign so i dont know, anyhow i did take it out.
it will not let me post the folder on the site i dont know why

WinAudit report looks good. You've got plenty of RAM.

Let's see what your Virtual Memory is set at:

Right-click on My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Advanced tab. Under the catagory called "Performance", click on Settings. Cilck on the Advanced tab. Now take a screenshot of that by pressing Print Screen/SysRq on your keyboard. Open Paint and paste. Save the screenshot as a JPEG and post it in a reply to me.

Once again, if you have troubles attaching it, e-mail it to me. And then let me know when you do, just incase MSN puts it in my junk folder again.

Hmmm....your virtual memory settings are normal.

Try this:

Download and install Tune Up 2006 Trial

Click on Clean up & Repair. Run TuneUp DiskCleaner. Delete all junk files. Afterwords, return to the Main Screen.

Click on Clean up & Repair. Run TuneUp RegistryCleaner. Fix all errors. Afterwords, return to the Main Screen.

Click on Optimize & Improve. Run TuneUp RegistryDefrag, which will take a few minutes and need a reboot.

After the reboot, start Tune Up again. Click on Optimize & Improve then click on TuneUp System Optimizer. Now click on Accelerate downloads and Internet surfing to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot.

After the reboot, start Tune Up again. Click on Optimize & Improve then click on TuneUp System Optimizer. In the menu to the left called "Wizards", choose System Advisor. Note some of the advice it tells you.


If that does not solve your problem, do this:

Download Process Explorer from Sysinternals
http://www.sysintern...ssexplorer.html

Extract it, but don't run it yet! Keep it in a location you can easily access the next time your Virtual Memory problem occurs.

The next time you have that problem, run Process Explorer. Go to VIEW > SHOW Fractional CPU usage
Make sure it is checked.

Take a screenshot of that and send it to me.

I have a feeling your problem is related to LimeWire. See this article for more information

Due to the nature and function of the program, yes.

But only time will tell if I'm right or wrong. And if I am wrong, I have a way that you can find out what is affecting your memory.
