[Xc2612]

I just recently bought Quake 4 but it crashes on startup 100% of the time. The odd part is that Doom 3 runs perfectly fine even though they have almost identical system requirments.

My computer is an XPS Generation 1 laptop with a 3.4ghz processer and 2 gig of ram & a ATI Radeon 9700 series video card. I've listed the minimum system requirments for both Doom & Quake below. If anyone could figure out what could be causing Quake to crash on startup (with no error message) it would be a huge help. Thanks in advance.

Is there any error messages in the event logs that are logged around the time the game crashes?
Have you updated all your hardware drivers?
Have you installed all the latest patches?
Have you closed all unnecessary background tasks?
