After firing up PC I have no sound until I click onto speaker icon tick and untick mute box.
I am running XP Home Edition. I have checked sound windows, Booted in safe mode, done system restore but cannot return it to its normal operation. Does any one have an answer

Thanks flashh4. Not familiar with repair install only novice at this. I had a look on windows disk menu and did not see this function. Disc came with PC. I assume you reload XP home edit. Is this correct.
Thanks Deefa

Have you gone into the control panel....the sounds and audio devices...then on the volume tab click on advanced and uncheck all the boxes there?
