It's free and will turn the windows firewall off and manage the access permissions

If you use file and printer sharing it needs to be set for the trusted zone

i cant find where the setting is for 'server requires authentication'

and where do I go to to change file and printer sharing to a trusted zone?

When Zone Alarm started, it should have asked if you want the connection to be in the trusted zone

Click tools, e-mail accounts, click properties, click server

zone alarm never asked me.

Your setting are entirely different to my outlook express, I am unable to find it

Open Outlook Express, click tools, accounts, mail, with the primary account highlighted, click properties, click servers

If you clicked apply, closed outlook express, can you open it and try to send an e-mail
