I have been having a problem with the audio in San Andreas (I just ordered a new sound card [listed below in the specs] and hopefully that will help a little].

After the weather effect of a torrential downpour, all sounds except the radio cut out (mute, I mean nothing, no guns, no cars, nothing) and stay muted until I restart the game.

Any solutions or anyone else have this problem?

I'm running the updated version of the game if that helps at all :whistling:

Hello BlackPandemic,

Have you tried reinstalling DirectX?
Have you tried reinstalling your Creative soundcard drivers? or installing the latest ones?
Have you tried lowering the hardware acceleration level of your soundcard?

Well my new XtremeMusic is supposed to arrive this week so I will post up if the problem persists (after trying your suggestions).

And just out of curiosity, what does/how does DirectX affect sound?
