I installed NERO OEM suite (version 6). Now when I try to start Olympus Camedia Master (ver 4.3), I get the opening screen and then nothing. When I try to install some (not all) other apps the installshield screen displays for a second or so and then disappears. I am not sure that NERO is the cause, but the trouble started a few days after installation. I have uninstalled NERO and Camedia, and reinstalled just Camedia. it flashes, and disappears. When I try to install a Camedia update, the installshield flashes, and nothing. Unfortunately I cannot find a restore point earlier than the NERO install, so I can't restore. Does anyone have an answer? Is there an error log that I can read to find out more about why Camedia won't start? I'm running WIN XP Pro.

This doesn't sound like a Nero problem considering I had Nero 6 (before upgrading) and everything worked fine. This almost sounds like a malware problem. Anyone from that department share that thought?

You said, a couple of days after. Now, that tells me that it is not Nero causing the problems. Have you done all the basic scans for malware, spyware, trojans, & so forth? If not, you should.

Thanks for the quick response. I didn't try to use Camedia for several days, and NERO was the only new app, so I assumed....; however, you're right, I'll try malware scans and see what appears. If I find a problem, do I post here, or in the malware forum?

Post it in the Malware section is that's the case.

Just to close this topic. I did the scans and found several malware items. Should have done that before posting. Thanks for the help.
