Question number 2 this repair man told me because of the condition of my Pc he would install a XP window on for 200 dollars. I think he sees me coming. I am 72 years old and I use my PC to do medical researh and look things up

XP is a great operating system, but don't upgrade unless you want to. You sure don't need to upgrade to correct this problem.
First, let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.
