Hello,

I am having issues with my PC. It seems that I have a virus that:

1) Copies the real player icon on every shortcut that is put on the desktop.

2) Does not let me view the contents of the system32 folder (and other folders at times) unless I am in
safe mode.

3) Knocks me out of a program after a few minutes...

I have tried various virus scanners, spyware scanners from the Internet (i.e., Avast, Kaspersky, etc, etc...)
I have Symantec, but my license is expired. I was going to try to uninstall it and download a trial version of it just to see if I can clean this up.

Has anyone seen anything similar to this. The real player thing is very strange...

Thanks... :whistling:

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
