my computer doesn't recognize my ipod

this is what happened when i connect the usb corn to my computer
I uninstalled the software and installed it again
and I realized that my computer still doesn't recognize my ipod

and it stops there, and it doesnt move
this is my new ipod, i just bought it yesterday
and I just tried it out today, did I do something wrong? or is this new ipod really malfunctioned?
