virus from limewire

hi-

limewire recently gave me a virus in which limewire will start on its own every minute or so. if i try to access the registry, it will block me from doing so. here is my hijackthis log, i dont know exactly what it is so hopefully the log will show you something: thank you

also, i have uninstalled limewire, but still the following will come up in a java window every minute where limewire would be loading up. it says that there is an error, and this is the error report:

sorry, another thing, lastly, every 10 minutes or so a command prompt window will come up with a file called setup.exe with teh blinker blinking all over the place, even after i delete this file this will still happen

Dont know if this will help you out but give it a try...............go to your internet options from your tool

bar ...............then click on privacy............then click on sites ................copy and paste this where it says

address of web sites................... http://www.limewire.com/ ............. that will blockout limewire

cookies. click ok then apply then ok..

Limewire is always sending and receiving cookies and that slows your computer down a great deal by blocking them you will be able deal with your problem a bit more easier.................Remember these types of music programs are harmful to your computer.

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

Using System Restore is like putting a band-aid on a gun shot wound. It will hold it for a little while but it will eventually get through. I would DEFINITELY recommend you do what Starjax suggested, that being taking a trip to the Malware Forum.
