About three weeks ago my norton subscription ran out and now I'm covered in virus', and spyware. I have done everything your site said to do. I ran and fixed with spybot s&d, spyware doctor, ad-aware se, and cw shredder. I have immunized, updated, and everthing with the exception of doing a housecall from trend micro because I keep getting kicked offline. I get a internet explorer encountered a problem and needs to shut down message. Here's my HJT log. I'm new to your forum and would GREATLY apprecieate any help you can give. Thanks in advance.Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

This will take several steps to complete, but stick with us and we'll get it fixed.

Trun off system restore.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(Windows XP)
1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

How to Turn On and Turn Off System Restore in Windows XP
http://support.micro...kb;en-us;310405

First thing you need to do is locate an anti-viral program and download it. There are several free ones out there or you can update your Norton.

Another free antiviral scan is one from Panda.

http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm

You will need to use Internet Explorer to download it.

Also there are some free trojan scans out there.

TDS3 from http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/

download & install the 30 day free trial, update it manually as described here http://tds.diamondcs...php?page=update as the trial version doesn't have auto update enabled

then press scan control & tick all the little boxes in the bottom part of that window, press save configuration and then close that window by pressing the red X in top right corner, then select system testing and select full system scan

Run adaware again.

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin

Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot and post a new log. :tazz:
